To gear up the sales, car makers are offering higher discounts to the customers
With the ease of supply chain and semiconductor shortages, car makers are offering higher discounts on some product lines to get sales into high gear.
Because of constrained supply, there are no discounts available on low-volume models like Maruti XL6 whereas there are offers for the top-selling models by volume such as Alto, Wagon R etc.
Moreover, SUVs, minis and hatchback models had greater incentives compared to the MPV segment.
VW, Skoda, Honda, Toyota and Tata offer the highest average discounts.
In October, the discounts started to increase and are estimated to continue till year-end as the automakers’ clear stocks of outgoing models by December.
